Recently I wrote about the things I did to lower my bounce rate. One of them was making sure external links and internal links all opened in a new page so that readers stayed on my site for as long as possible. Please go to the article where I've gone into it in depth. Under the heading 'I opened links in a new window to lower my bounce rate' I showed you an image of the pop-up box that helps you to do the above with one click. You'll notice that there's now an additional tick box area. This one is massively important because it allows you to choose whether you want a no-follow or a do-follow link. However, even if you do this brilliantly, you first of all have to find a way of getting visitors to your site.
This brings us to search descriptions: At the right of your window when you're writing a new post, look under Post settings, there's a panel called, Search Description. Click on this. You can now describe - in a snippet - what each post you write is about. This will show up in search results and give your blog a better chance to be seen and clicked on. You can also do this for all your pages.

Some good points to consider when writing search descriptions are: include your key words. Use as few words as possible - ideally about 150 characters. Tell potential visitors how your post can help them solve a particular problem - don't rant. Think of what people would be typing into their search panel and try to tailor your description to suit.
